Jana Renner, MPA

Program Officer, Paso del Norte Health Foundation
Jana Renner serves as a Program Officer at the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, where she leads the Healthy Eating Active Living initiative. In this role, she collaborates with community partners to enhance nutrition and create opportunities for physical activity across the region. Her work focuses on fostering healthier lifestyles by supporting projects that address community health needs. A notable achievement under her leadership is the successful oversight of the Playa Drain Trail, a 3.4-mile trail connecting Ascarate Park to Riverside Park, which provides residents with a safe and accessible space for physical activity. In recognition of her commitment to promoting community health, Jana was selected as a 2019 Walking Fellow in the America Walks Walking College, where she further developed her expertise in creating walkable communities. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Trinity University and a Master of Public Administration from The University of Texas at El Paso, equipping her with a strong foundation in both science and public policy to drive impactful health initiatives. Her dedication and expertise continue to advance the foundation’s mission to improve the health and well-being of the Paso del Norte region.
