Ashly Fletcher, MBA, is the Founder and Executive Director of Bike Friendly South Dallas (BFSD), an award-winning nonprofit she launched in 2012 to bring safe, joyful, and practical bicycling to one of Dallas’s most historically disinvested communities. A lifelong South Dallas resident and alumna of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Ashly transformed her personal hobby of riding through the neighborhood into a powerful movement that has distributed thousands of bicycles, trained hundreds of new riders (children and adults alike), organized popular community rides, and advocated for street-safety improvements in the South Dallas/Fair Park area. Under her leadership, BFSD has become a national model for grassroots, community-led cycling equity programs.
A League of American Bicyclists-certified League Cycling Instructor (LCI), Ashly serves on the Board of Directors of BikeTexas and is a frequent speaker on culturally relevant bike programming, community ownership of mobility justice, and building trust in underserved neighborhoods. By day, she works in Private Wealth Management at UBS Bank USA, bringing the same strategic precision to financial planning that she applies to expanding bicycle access and opportunity. She holds a Master of Business Administration and remains passionately committed to proving that bicycling can be a legitimate, dignified, and liberating transportation choice for everyone—no matter their zip code.
