Peter Mullan serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy, where he has been steering the organization since 2015 to fulfill its mission of creating an exceptional chain of parks along a restored Waller Creek in partnership with the City of Austin. Under his leadership, the Conservancy has successfully raised over $158 million in public and private funds to support the design and construction of this transformative urban park system. A significant milestone during his tenure was the groundbreaking of the first phase at Waterloo Park in 2017, marking a pivotal step toward realizing the vision of a vibrant, accessible green space for the Austin community. Before joining Waterloo Greenway, Peter Mullan held the role of Executive Vice President at Friends of the High Line from 2004 to 2014, where he oversaw all aspects of the physical development of the High Line in New York City. His responsibilities included planning, design, construction, and collaboration with the City of New York, contributing to the transformation of the elevated railway into an iconic public park. An architect by training, Mullan previously worked from 1997 to 2004 at Polshek Partnership Architects (now Ennead Architects), where he led master planning and design projects for universities and cultural institutions, honing his expertise in creating impactful public spaces.
